You get to this point and in my experience you&#039;re so exhausted from interviews and assessment centres that you have no idea what to do next or you&#039;re so anxious about getting a job in the first place you just sign straight off while the adrenalin is still pumping through your veins. 
 
I&#039;ve learnt, you really need a bit of breathing space to relax and think about the bigger picture. This will make all the difference when you actually accept and start work as you&#039;ll be 100% bought into the company and the role etc. as you&#039;ve reasoned it out and/ or come to terms with it. 
 
Also, take time to enjoy the calm relaxed elation that follows an offer as I&#039;m sure it&#039;s been at least a month if not two that you&#039;ve been in process, so a couple days to a week should be sufficient to ponder life&#039;s big queries. Then pop the champers and celebrate! 
 
Finally, never ever burn your bridges. This business is all about building relationships, and consulting is surprisingly incestuous.
