I received two gifts that travel with me. One's a foam rubber cylinder, about the size of a cupcake. It's got a slit through the top, about 3/4 inch deep. The other is a set of photo postcards of the Scottish Highlands.

I put the foam cupcake in my computer bag and slip four or five of the postcards into the pocket of my notepad. Whenever I'm onsite with space of my own for more than half a day, I prop up Glencoe or the Cuillins or Eilean Donan Castle.

Speaking from my own 5-4-3 experience let me add another suggestion: Try to give yourself a little treat on Thursday night. Have a drink at a bar, meet friends, eat out, go to the cinema etc. - do anything that actually feels like weekend to you. Just don't overdo it, you actually have to work the next day. ;)
You might not realise the full effect of your Thursday night out until Friday or even Saturday night. The weekend suddenly feels much longer, because you have started doing "weekend stuff" one night earlier.
Whenever I do that Saturdays feel like Sundays - chilling, calming down. But then I realise, hey, it's not even Sunday yet! That's the real beauty of it...
